Well, today was an EPIC FAIL day 😞. To appreciate today’s follies, let me start with last night’s sleep (or lack thereof). You will recall I had to endure the lovely smell of some guy's pain relief rub that reeked like paint thinner. To make things even better 😊, the guy in the top bunk was shaking and rocking all night long. Every time he moved, the whole bunk bed shook like an earthquake. Needless to say, I didn’t get much sleep.
So, I started the day sleep-deprived, and it only got “better” (epic fails to come later in the post).
But let’s not focus on the negative. The weather and skies were great. So, let’s go!
Some beautiful pastel colors in the morning sky. It was like God decided to play with a watercolor set today, gently brushing the horizon with soft pinks and blues. A masterpiece in progress, just for us early risers!
The Knights Templar were huge in northern Spain, and you can see their presence everywhere, even in the names of hostels. FYI, Jacques de Molay was a famous Templar. This guy was like the rock star of the Knights Templar, only with more armor and fewer guitar solos😊
Jacques de Molay was the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, leading them from 1292 until his fiery end in 1314. Yes, you read that right—fiery. Poor Jacques was burned at the stake in Paris, thanks to some seriously bad blood with King Philip IV of France, who probably didn't get the memo about playing nice.
A few shots along the way. The skies were pretty great this morning, as if Mother Nature decided to show off her best Instagram filters.
